PIGEON FANCIERS FLOCK TO BLACKPOOL

This weekend sees Blackpool come alive, with pigeon fanciers gathering from all over Britain,Ireland and even as far a field as Europe.

Bird auctions commence Friday Evening with the last auction Sunday Morning. These take place in the larger hotels and working men's clubs.

The show takes place at The Winter Gardens in the town centre. Doors open on Saturday Morning and runs until Sunday afternoon.

Everything you need for setting up your first loft to bird feed and more can be purchased at the show.

Checkout the show birds, Have you entered your breed is yours a winner?

These birds can command a price tag well into their thousands.

In this day not a hobby just for men, women and children have started their own lofts breeding both race and show winners.

No Snow In Blackpool

Every where has snow except this part of the North West. Rain we have had that and lots of it in the last 12 hours. The match between Blackpool and Manchester United got called off on Friday 3rd December 2010, due to a frozen pitch. However the Disco Kid and Queen dance competition still goes ahead at the Tower over this week end.

Lots of hoteliers have had cancellations this week end, due to the severer weather conditions around the country.

Saturday 13th November,weather for Blackpool is wet and windy. Blackpool still offers lot's to do, There's The Sandcastle water park,The Tower, sea life centre and Lois Tussauds. Plenty of shops in and around Hounds hill shopping centre. Birley Street is now coffee central,a host of new cafe's and bistro's have opened up.

This afternoon see's the Christmas light's being switched on in St John's centre. Rock FM host's the event,with Joe McEldrerry flicking the switch, all starts at 2pm.

Blue skies now over Blackpool,but still windy.

The SEO training course

Attended the SEO course at the Enterprise centre Wednesday 18th November 2009.

Peter from StayBlackpool did the presentation and a great job he did.

Came home sorted out the google profile, created my alerts tomorrow will look at the web site and the Ad words.

New Car

Got a new car under the scrappage scheme.

Had to get one that i could see the end of the bonnet.

You have no idea how difficult that was.

I had my heart set on another Golf which we had over 10 years ago, however with a budget of £10k it was never going to happen.

Having gone to quite a few dealerships, we ended up at Moorland motors (vauxhall,seat,saab).

Steve Langley the sales person showed us lots of cars, as we were looking round i spotted a lovely Black Astra, knowing it was out of our price range i still went and sat in it, perfect except the £17k price tag oh well. Then my son came to the rescue he work for one of the many partners that Vauxhall give discounts too. So we got a lovely Black sapphire Astra Active for £8k bargin of the year.

Steve and the rest of the staff in the show room were excellent, could not praise them enought,kept us informed of what was happening and we even got the car 3 weeks early.

Lastly Steve is no longer with Moorlands, he is now North of the Border in Scotland.

Had our over night stay by the visit Britain accessor on Thursday night. Very happy with everything and issued us with our 3 star rating for another year. So a big thank you to the visit Britain team. Must be doing something right, made some very good suggestions and gave me a few ideas for when i redecorate at the end of the year. If any one would like to know her ideas let me know and i will email them to you.
